Congratulations on your first public performance of Still I Wish!
We have a very similar schedule to last week, so I hope we learned some lessons to be as prepared as possible to remain in good health, academic standing, and energized.

Sunday
No rehearsals, free
Monday
A1 - We will stay indoors, focus will be reviewing Parts 1-4, Pass Offs for Part 2
A3 - Mr. Collins will lead class, Pass Offs for Part 2
After School rehearsal from 3:30 - 5:30 - Battery will rehearse outside.
Tuesday
B5 - Review Fireball, Seven Nation, Run Still I Wish
No rehearsal after school - Make sure you have completed all assignments in your other classes.
Wednesday
A1 - We will stay indoors. Warm-Up Set 2 Due, Seven Nation and Fireball
A3 - Mr. Collins will lead class, Warm-Up Set 2 Due
After School rehearsal from 3:30 - 6:30 at Naaman Forest
Thursday
B5 - Run through show music and pep music
Football Game at Richardson HS ( Away at Eagle-Mustang Stadium). Students called immediately after school, Game starts at 7, 10:30 estimated dismissal
Friday (B Day)
B5 - All Region Day - Snare Solo Recap and 2 Mallet Solo
After School rehearsal from 3:30 - 6:30 at Naaman Forest

All-Region/Semester Solo Project
Pass off 1 (Half of snare solo) was due this past Saturday by video. This is a minor grade. As of this newsletter, 11 students will be receiving a 0 for not turning in this assignment. Thanks to the 7 who submitted a video.
Pass off 2 (Half of 2 mallet solo) is due by the end of the day on Saturday, Sept 12
video recordings must have clear audio, with face, hands and playing surface in view.
videos should be uploaded to our band app chat thread or emailed to Mr. Collins if there are technical difficulties.

We had too many without music this past week. For some, it was due to not being in the class that rehearses stands music the most B5. Please use this to know what is expected in your flip folder and what is needed to be prepared for out game this week.
Labor Day Parade and Rehearsal
Our band is participating in the 2026 City of Garland Labor Day Parade. Please check the details for this event and following rehearsal HERE.
Drumline Jerseys
Drumline Jerseys were ordered this past week. This year, they cost $59. If you ordered and are receiving a jersey this year, you will need to reimburse the band boosters for this purchase. Jerseys must be paid before Thanksgiving break. Paying in installments is acceptable, but please make at least 1 payment every month from September-November.

Reminders:
Mandatory Band events scheduled with at least 2 weeks are major grades
A parent must email Mr. Collins in advance of the event to have unavoidable conflicts be considered excused.
Points will be deducted for being late and/or not having necessary supplies.
Hats, proper shoes, athletic clothing appropriate from warm-weather, and a large, reusable water bottle are required for all rehearsals.

Grades may be made up or improved. Late submissions/retakes may be made up for consideration of full credit if done within 1 week of the due date. Late submissions/retakes may be made up for consideration of up to 70% full credit if done after 2 weeks of due date. It is the student’s responsibility to set up and communicate make up assignments with Mr. Collins
