Percussion: Week of February 17 - 23

Thank you for a great week last week. You all did a good job with several directors at TMEA and my unexpected emergency on Tuesday.

Our performance at Urban Air on Saturday went very well. We represented ourselves well, our participation was appreciated, and we had a lot of fun! Thank you!

This is a big week upcoming! We have multiple performances. I’m looking forward to seeing us celebrate all the work we’ve done so far this semester.

Students do not have school on Monday, and multiple rehearsals will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind Ensemble has a performance on Thursday. NFPE will have a dress rehearsal on Thursday and concert on Friday. Pass Off 8 will be due in class on Friday. Saturday is the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest and NTX Percussion Festival.

Supplies

Please make sure you bring concert snare sticks and a practice pad to band class every day.

1 box of tissues per student is requested. One has observed this request, many more have used the tissues.

Drumline Jersey Order - Payments are past due

Please make payments for jerseys this week.

Please make payments for jersey’s through the following process:

1) Each jersey is $55.

2) Provide payments to the band boosters. Click HERE for instructions and different payment options.

3) If paying digitally, include a note that the payment is for jerseys and the student’s name. Send a screenshot with the payment confirmation to ncollins@garlandisd.net

4) Please pay for what you can as soon as you can. All jerseys should have been paid in full by Friday, November 22. Thank you to those who have met this deadline!

UIL Solo and Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble Concert, NTX Percussion Festival and TWU Pre-UIL - February 20-22

We have a lot of events between February 20-22. Please take note below. Each event has details on our event page.

Our Winter Percussion Ensemble Concert will be on Friday, February 21 from 7pm-8pm at Naaman Forest, Student Call Time is 5:30.
The Dress Rehearsal for our Winter Percussion Ensemble Concert will be Thursday, February 20 from 3:00-7:00.
Wind Ensemble will be participating at the TWU Pre-UIL festival on Thursday, February 20 during the school day.
UIL Region Solo and Ensemble will be in the morning on Saturday, February 22 at Rowlett HS
The North Texas Percussion Festival will be Saturday, February 22 at Forney HS.

Concert Band Rehearsals This Week

Wind Ensemble will rehearse on Monday and Tuesday from 3:30-5:30. Symphonic Band will meet on Tuesday from 3:30-5:30. Please continue to stay aware of communications from Mr. Falls and Mr. Choi for rehearsal plans.
