Supplies

Please make sure you bring concert snare sticks and a practice pad to band class every day.

1 box of tissues per student is requested. One has observed this request, many more have used the tissues.

Percussion Ensemble

Congratulations on a strong finish to our “percussion ensemble season.” Our percussion concert was our most ambitious ever and it was very well executed.

At the North Garland Percussion Festival, the judges were very complimentary as those were two fine performances. While we did not come out on top in this contest, we did have our strongest competitive showing at this festival to date. One judge placed Watercolor Sun as the 6th best ensemble of the day (our of 12).

Concert Band for the Week

Wind Ensemble will rehearse on Monday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Symphonic Band will meet on Tuesday from 3:30-5:30. Please continue to stay aware of communications from Mr. Falls and Mr. Choi for rehearsal plans.

Wind Ensemble will have an honor band recording session at Rockwall-Heath High School on Friday. The performance time is 1:00 and estimated return time is 3:30.

Jazz Band will not rehearse this week.

Drumline Audition Clinics, Audition, Music Clinics and May Camp

The process of setting the 2025-2026 Naaman Forest Drumline continues this Wednesday with our 2nd Audition Clinic. Please look over the updated percussion section in the members portion of this website for details on our upcoming events for those that will be a part of our group next year.

Audition Clinics are designed to prepare students for auditions. It is a time to explore new instruments and learn the audition expectations.

Drumline Auditions are when students demonstrate their abilities individually and are formally placed on an instrument in our drumline.

Music Clinics are meant to establish the fundamentals of our assigned instruments and we begin learning music as an ensemble.

The May Drumline Camp is designed to introduce the first portion of our show, cadences, daily warm-ups, and marching fundamentals as we prepare for the well deserved summer break. At the end of this camp, we are truly the 2025-2026 Naaman Forest Drumline.
