Flip Folders, Earplugs, Water Bottles and Rehearsal Attire

Please make arrangements to ensure you are set up for success for rehearsals and our upcoming performances.

  • Flip Folder - A Flip folder is our way of organizing pep band music. All students need a flip folder. You can purchase your own from any music retailer or though the band for $5. Everyone should try to have a flip folder by this Friday, August 22

  • Earplugs - Earplugs are required for all students during indoor battery drum rehearsals. 2 pairs of disposable foam earplugs have been provided to all students, but we encourage the purchase of a higher quality earplug. EARasers, Etymotic, Gibraltar

  • Water Bottles - Students must have large, reusable water bottles at every rehearsal. At this point, students should all have a 1/2 Gallon Igloo water jug. Students should not plan on using disposable water bottles.

  • Rehearsal Attire, hats and sunscreen - Students should continue to wear appropriate athletic clothing that is appropriate for warm weather. This includes athletic sneakers that provide plenty of cushioned support. Hats are required and sunglasses are highly recommended. Sunscreen is necessary as well. We also encourage students to consider looking into modern accessories that aid in keeping the body cool. This includes, moisture wicking shirts that provide sun protection, cooling towels, and personal fans.

After School Rehearsal Schedule

Stay on top of our schedule by following the Calendar section found at the top of this website. You can click HERE for our Google Calendar

  • Most weeks, we will have after school rehearsals on Monday (3:30-5:30), Wednesday (Stadium Rehearsal until 7pm) and Thursday (from 3:30-6:30)

    • During bad weather (rain and/or excessive heat), we will keep Wednesday rehearsals on campus and rehearse from 3:30-6:30

  • We will perform at all Naaman Forest Varsity Football Games, generally on Fridays.

    • Our first game will be Friday, August 29. Our week off is the week of September 12.

    • On game days, students will need to report to the band hall after school. We will have a brief rehearsal, pack our trailer, get dressed and eat dinner (provided by the boosters). Students should not plan to go home before the game on game days.

  • After School Rehearsals are a vital component to a successful ensemble. As a result, they are a part of our graded curriculum and mandatory. Please contact Mr. Collins as soon as possible if there are any concerns to this schedule.

Plan Ahead! Mandatory Upcoming Events

Our contest season is both the most rewarding part of marching band, and the busiest! We have mandatory contest performances starting on Saturday, September 20 and ending on Saturday, November 8. Most Saturdays have an event during this time, including during fall break. We know this is a major commitment and that is why we are communicating now so you can plan now. It is absolutely devastating when a student misses a contest.

  • September 20 - North Texas Drumline Contest (Forney HS)

  • September 27 - Wylie Marching Invitational
