Lewisville Drumline Invitational 2025

Our competitive marching season has officially come to a close. Congratulations on an impressive performance at the Lewisville Drumline Invitational. This group has come a long way this year and I hope you are proud of your growth.

This week is very different for us. We are pivoting to focus on percussion ensembles and our semester solos. We also have playoff football to look forward to. Keep an eye on the schedule and assignments so that we are all successful.

Cycle2, Week 4 (A Week), November 10 - 16

    • During A1 - Solo focus, timpani and 2 mallets

    • During B5 + B7 - Solo Focus, timpani and 2 mallets

    • Free after school

  • Wednesday

    • During A1 - Holiday ensemble intro

    • After School - All Region Masterclass from 3:30-5:00

      • For all students working on the All-Region solos

  • Thursday

  • Friday (A Day)

    • During A1 - Focus on Solos

    • Possible Playoff game

Drumline Jersey Payment

Drumline Jerseys arrived in record time this year and we’ve already had two awesome events to show them off. It is time to make plans to pay for our jersey order:

  • The price for jerseys will be $58 for sizes Small - XL and $63 for jerseys that are 2XL-3XL.

  • Payments should be provided to the band boosters. Click HERE for details on payments accepted.

    • If you are providing payment digitally (Zelle, Paypal, Cash App), please send Mr. Collins a screenshot of your payment for accurate record keeping.

  • You may make multiple payments over time to pay for the jerseys. If not paying in full, please make at least one payment per month until paid in full. Payments are due in full this week on November 14.

  • As of this newsletter, one has provided payments for jerseys.

Upcoming Dates of Note

8th Grade Open House on Thursday, November 13

We have added an event to our calendar. On Thursday, November 13, the drumline and varsity winds will be participate for the 8th grade open house held at Naaman Forest. Details are still being ironed out, but keep an eye on the information as it is updated on the Events Page.

Band Overview - through end of semester

We are entering the next “season” of band. It will be a bit different this year than in past years. Due to the auditorium renovation, we are not currently planning any winter full band performances. Over the rest of the semester we will focus on the following:

  • Semester Solos and All-Region Prep - Auditions for All-Region, Grades 9-12, is on Saturday, December 6 (Phase 1), and Monday, December 8 (Phase 2)

  • Holiday Percussion Ensembles - We have a few holiday performances (Ranger Market, Winter Concert)

  • Percussion Ensemble - We will start work on our spring semester ensembles

As a result of this adjustment, our after school rehearsal schedule will be very different than originally planned. We will not be participating in most “full band” rehearsals, and we do not have any full band rehearsals currently planned that will include percussion. Therefore, after school activities will be minimal and will be mostly for performances and percussion ensemble rehearsals.

Enjoy having your time back after school and please make sure you know exactly when you do have commitments after school.

  • 2 Mallet Pass off 3 and Timpani Solo Pass Off 2 - Due Friday, November 14 - Minor Grade

    • All Region Cut - ALL of 2 mallets, from top - 64 of Timpani

    • First Year Solo - All of timpani and both 2 mallet solos

  • Upcoming: All Solos Learned by November 21

    • All-Region - Adding remaining 4 Mallets and timpani

    • First Year Solos - Adding 2nd 4 mallet etude
