Drumline Showcase
We have our annual Drumline Showcase and Clinic this weekend on Saturday, September 13. This is our dry run ahead of the first contest of the season. Here are some highlights and important details:
This year, we are STARTING with a clinic at 9:30am. Plan to arrive between 9 and 9:15 so we can setup in the Competition Gym for an on-time start.
Mr. Garrett Tucker, Percussion Director at Sachse HS, will be our clinician this year. He will work with us for an hour, help run a middle school clinic, and then watch our performance at 12:15pm
This is an event for high school and middle school. Please note our start time is 9:30am. The middle school clinic starts at 11 and is the reason the poster does not say 9:30.
Plan to make friends with our Sellers and Webb siblings! Have fun during the clinic from 11-12.
We are performing The Bloom at 12:15 in the competition gym. Make sure to have your fan club come support us!
The clinic was moved to before our performance so everyone can have pizza at the same time! Plan to enjoy pizza and make friends at 12:30. We will put everything away around 12:45/12:50 and everyone is dismissed at that time.
Plan to wear your Green Ranger Band T-Shirt and Band Shorts.
Rehearsals This Week
We have rehearsals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week
No rehearsals or games on Thursday and Friday
Seniors will be given an opportunity to leave rehearsal early on Wednesday to attend the College Fair at the CCC. Please observe the expectations that will be communicated on Monday.
Rehearsal on Wednesday will be from 4:30-7:30 at Williams Stadium.
Eligibility
The Week 6 progress report determines student eligibility. This is the most important progress report of the entire year. Students that do not meet eligibility will not be able to participate in the entire competitive marching season.
Students need to have a grade of 70 or higher to be passing.
Missing assignments are the number 1 reason students do not have a passing grade. Make up all missing assignments this week as we do not have after school activities on Thursday or Friday.
Plan to attend tutorials in classes that have lower grades. However, work with your teachers to avoid missing after school rehearsals.
North Texas Drumline Contest
Our contest season starts on Saturday, September 20 with the North Texas Drumline Contest at Forney High School. Please take a look at the events page for details on the day.
FanPledge Fundraiser Update
We have one week remaining for our fundraiser. Our band has raised over $10,000! Our goal of $20,000. Some great progress this week!
Share our donation site (Click Here) to your family and close contacts. Encourage the adults in your home to share this with their coworkers.
75% of the percussionists have received donations. This is a huge increase this week!
We still have too many that do not have contacts added. Remember, properly adding contacts allows the fundraising company connect with your supporters to help make donations easier for you. The goal is 20.
Everyone with at least 3 contacts has had donations made in their name. The 4 percussionists that have not received any donations all have 2 contacts or less.
